KTUU Channel 2 and the Anchorage Daily News states that Alaska Citizens Militia members will be holding a .223 Day Of Resistance Rally in Juneau, Alaska on February 23rd, 2013. They report that Thom Buzard, described as chairman ad-hoc of the Juneau Alaska Citizens Militia, says the group is holding the rally on the steps of the state capitol because it believes law-abiding gun owners are being penalized for the actions of criminals. Buzard expects 300 to 400 people to attend.
However, this does not mean all 400 people will be militia members. What the media failed to report is that this is much bigger than the militia, as evidenced by the following comment appended to the ADN story:
DeathFirst Today 08:27 AM:
There will be matching rallies in Wasilla and Anchorage on the same day. 10am park strip for Anchorage and 1pm for Wasilla. All law abiding gun owners should attend. Also this is not a militia event as falsley stated in the articale. This same event is scheduled to be held in ALL 50 states at the same time.
This is correct. The Day Of Resistance is a national event, and the official rally list is available HERE. Here's a screenshot of the Alaska information:

Update February 18th: The Alaska Citizens Militia reveals another event:
Delta Junction Day of Resistance Rally
Location: Delta Junction
Time: February 23rd 12-3 P.M.
Particulars: Sign-Waving at the Visitors Center at the intersection of the Alcan and Richardson Highway
Contact: Col. David R. Luntz, Central Alaska Militia
Visit the Anchorage group's Facebook page HERE.
The Day Of Resistance was prompted by the fact that on January 16th, 2013, President Barack Obama issued 23 executive actions against the Second Amendment right to bear arms. He did this without the consent of Congress which in itself, violates the foundation of the Constitution and the co-equal branches of government. The .223 designation stands for the fact that the rally is being held on February 23rd. All Alaskans who value the right to bear arms are encouraged to participate.
The rally in Anchorage will also showcase those Assembly and School Board candidates who value the Second Amendment. If they do, they'll be there.
