LDS Living: Mormon Times Spotlights The Fry Family In Kaktovik, Alaska

The Mormon Times has decided to shine their journalistic spotlight on a Mormon family living in Kaktovik, Alaska. Brooks and Katie Fry and their four children are the only members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in this North Slope village of around 300 people, so they hold their own services at home. Video embedded below; segment starts around 1:58.

The Fry family rely on teleconferences and Skype to connect to other church members. They are formally assigned to the North Slope Branch in Barrow, 300 miles west. The branch is one of 15 congregations assigned to the Fairbanks Alaska Stake. You can use this map to find the location of LDS services nearest you.

The LDS Church just concluded its 181st Annual General Conference held on April 2-3; archives available HERE.
