Anchorage, Alaska 2011 Municipal Election: List Of Assembly And School Board Candidates

NOTE: Updated March 26th with links to five more Anchorage Daily News candidate surveys and the portal to KTUU Channel 2's candidate profiles.

Anchorage, Alaska will hold its annual municipal election on Tuesday April 5th, 2011. Six Assembly seats and two School Board seats will be up for grabs for three-year terms each. While Assembly members represent designated geographical districts, all school board seats are city-wide. The MOA Election Page provides all necessary information about the upcoming election, to include how to register to vote and what assembly district you live in. Eight ballot propositions are also up for grabs; they are presented in this separate post. A list of candidate forums is now available HERE.

Candidates are listed in two places; on the MOA Candidates Page, and in the APOC database. The latter provides information on candidate fund-raising and campaign contributions. APOC maintains records on these candidates in two locations:
-- Interim reporting database HERE (to see the whole list of candidates, type 2011 Anchorage in the Candidate For box, then click Search).
-- Permanent reporting database HERE. Fewer candidates on this list, but much easier to use.

  2. Among my people are wicked men who lie in wait like men who snare birds and like those who set traps to catch men. Like cages full of birds, their houses are full of deceit; they have become rich and powerful and have grown fat and sleek. Their evil deeds have no limit - (Jeremiah 5:26)

You poor brain dead people, still believe in the power(HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)of the vote.

  3. The power of the vote changed the U.S. House from Democrat to Republican. Whether this really makes a difference remains to be seen, though.

I still consider it worthwhile, if for no other reason, we get to put ourselves on record.

  4. Then what's the use of dreaming dreams,
That each shall "get his own"
By forceless votes of meek-eyed thralls,
    Who blindly sweat and moan?
No! A curse is on their cankered brains --
    Their very bones decay:
Go: Trace your fate in the Iron Game,
    It's the Logic of Today.

  5. The website for the downtown seat run by Albert Swank is www.albertswank.com and was released 2/20/2011. The website is partially complete and will be 100% by 2/28/2011. Many subjects will be covered to include the cyclotron issue, Alaska family history, work and business experience and many other facts. I encourage people to view the site and I look forward to answering any questions. Thanks Albert Swank
