Schedule Of Memorial Services In Anchorage For Ted Stevens At Holy Family Cathedral, All Saints Episcopal Church, And Anchorage Baptist Temple

Religious observances commemorating the departure of former Senator Ted Stevens have now been scheduled, complete with updated parking information.

APRN reports that a memorial mass for Ted Stevens will be held in Anchorage:

Place: Holy Family Cathedral
Location: near 5th Avenue and H Street in Anchorage (map HERE)
Date and Time: Monday August 16th at 12:10 P.M.
Availability: Open to the public. Note that parking is somewhat limited; downtown streets have metered parking. Recommend car-pooling or public transportation.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports that Stevens will lie in repose at another Anchorage venue:

Place: All Saints Episcopal Church
Location: 545 West 8th Avenue (map HERE)
Date: Tuesday August 17th, anytime between 10 A.M. and 8 P.M.
Availability: Open to the public. The Linny Pacillo Parking Garage, 517 W. Seventh Ave., will be open to the public attending the visitation. Adjacent downtown streets have metered parking.

Motorcade Procession: At 8 p.m. on August 17th, a motorcade procession will take Stevens' body to the Anchorage Baptist Temple along this route: west on Eighth Avenue from the church to L Street, L Street/Minnesota Boulevard south to Benson Boulevard, then Benson/Northern Lights Boulevard to the Anchorage Baptist Temple. The Stevens family encourages members of the public to pay their respects to Stevens by lining this procession route.

Alaska Dispatch reports that funeral services for Ted Stevens will also be held in Anchorage:

Place: Anchorage Baptist Temple
Location: 6401 E. Northern Lights Blvd (map HERE)
Date and Time: Wednesday August 18th at 2 P.M.
Availability: Open to the public. Surprisingly, no parking for the public will be available at ABT, except for limited disability parking. Instead, the public is advised to park at the Tikahtnu Commons mall, in the lot between the Kohl's and Lowe's stores. The mall is on Muldoon Road just north of the Glenn Highway. Shuttle buses will leave from the east end of the parking lot at regular intervals starting at noon.

Eighth Ave., Suite 700, Anchorage 99501. The foundation was established to recognize and honor the career of Stevens and to perpetuate public service in Alaska.
