Another PDS Outbreak: Sarah Palin Confronted By Anti-Palin Activist Kathleen Gustafson While Filming TLC Documentary In Homer, Alaska

Palin advocates have coined the phrase "Palin Derangement Syndrome", or PDS, to describe the morbidly unhealthy obsession Palin-haters have with anything and everything about Sarah Palin. Alaska Dispatch informs us of an outbreak of PDS in Homer on Saturday August 7th, 2010. The Homer News published a local media story, with its primary value the nearly 400 comments appended to it.

Sarah Palin and her entourage were in Homer on August 7th to film a segment for an upcoming show, "Sarah Palin's Alaska," which is set to premiere on The Learning Channel (TLC) on November 14th. She was confronted by a large banner with the words "Worst Governor Ever" inscribed in three-foot high block letters. The banner was authored by Kathleen Gustafson and displayed at a shop owned by Billy Sullivan. Despite having become a big-time celebrity, Palin decided to stop and address Gustafson's concerns, thus showing that Palin doesn't consider herself bigger than Alaska despite her fame and fortune. At the 1:00 minute point of the video below, Palin seems to roll her eyes when Gustafson identifies herself as a teacher; this reflects the growing negative perception about teachers generated by teachers unions' promotion of politically-correct causes such as affirmative action and gay rights. The exchange is documented in part on this video:

If you find the audio difficult to follow, PDS Queen Shannyn Moore provides a written transcript of the exchange HERE.

Update August 10th: There's more to Kathleen Gustafson than meets the eye. According to Macsmind, she’s a personality of sorts on KBBI AM 890 in Homer, and she's also sung with a drag-queen band from time to time. In addition, although the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District website shows Gustafson as part of the staff at Homer High (scroll down to page 28), she's listed as a Theater Tech instead of a teacher.

You can also read an expanded account of the exchange by Shannyn Moore on HuffPo, where it becomes apparent why Moore is considered a "PDS Queen". Moore's missive is loaded with subjective terminology which gives away her absolute disgust and contempt for Palin; Shannyn Moore has never disguised her negative feelings towards Palin. The phrase "Lady, if you think I give you a hard time, hang on" gives away her game. Moore is also intellectually dishonest enough to associate Sarah Palin with Fred "God Hates Fags" Phelps, of all people. On the other hand, Shannyn Moore accuses a member of Palin's entourage of actually tearing down Gustafson's sign, which an Alaska State Trooper on the scene advised might constitute trespassing and destruction of property since Sullivan's shop is private property (a subsequent post on Conservatives4Palin indicates that no member of Palin's entourage tore down the sign).

Conservatives4Palin weighs in from the pro-Palin perspective. They captured screenshots of several of Shannyn Moore's tweets. In one of her tweets, Moore writes "...well, finally, a woman that will put the 'Ho' in Homer". This of course is a manifestation of Shannyn Moore's continuing obsession with Sarah Palin's physical appearance, an obsession first noted back in May 2009 when Moore attended an Alaska Decoration of Honor ceremony and opined that Sarah Palin's skirt was too short. Apparently, Moore is jealous of the fact that while so many conservative chicks (Laura Ingraham, Anne Coulter, etc.) induce the desire to procreate, many progressive chicks tend to induce the desire to nauseate (there...I just invented another Palinism, just like "refudiate"). Shannyn Moore is the only progressive chick I know of who's easy on the eyes. Sarah Palin may not be a feminist, but she exercises far more power and influence than any 10 feminists combined, and the left cannot abide the fact that a woman can exercise power and still remain identifiably a woman.

For her part, Sarah Palin initially did not address this encounter at length on Facebook, merely stating that she was primarily in Homer to go halibut fishing. That's probably the best attitude to take; stay above the fray and leave it to us to "spank" Shannyn Moore when necessary. However, since that time, Sarah Palin, in a new Facebook post, denounced the media for turning her eyebrow movements into a story line. She reminded readers that she comes from a family of teachers; her grandparents were teachers, her father was a teacher, her brother is a teacher, her sister works in Special Needs classrooms, her aunt is a school nurse, and her mom worked as a school secretary for much of her professional life.

  2. My pleasure - I get tired of the endless Palin-bashing, and I counter it when it goes over the top.

Palin was a long way from being a perfect governor; I'd grade her a "B-". But I believe her heart was in the right place, and there was no way she could be expected to withstand the continuous weaponization of the ethics complaint process against her. I respect her decision to resign; she put Alaska first.

As for Shannyn Moore; quite frankly, if I became President, my first official act would be to put her on the next plane to Guantanamo.
