Rumors Of A North Korean Terrorist Attack On The Deepwater Horizon Oil Platform In The Gulf Of Mexico Being Surfaced And Spread By The Russians

It appears that rumors that the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico was caused by a North Korean terrorist attack have been surfaced and spread by Russian sources. The Russian source also claims that the Obama Administration knows about it and has ordered a complete news blackout. While there's no mainstream media verification, the possibility of a terrorist attack causing the disaster is plausible, and so I'm posting this story. You be the judge; the European Union Times, which as been reputable in the past, picked it up.

This report is also being circulated by Sorcha Faal, who's known to be a disreputable source of information. In contrast, Dakota Voice also thinks it was a terrorist attack, but perpetrated by eco-terrorists (not sure if even Greenpeace would have the expertise and equipment for this type of operation, though). The Fort Worth Star-Telegram does report that the rig has a history of spills, fires, and even a collision, because of equipment failure, human error and bad weather.

According to the report, written by a source in Russia's Northern Fleet and circulated in the Kremlin, North Korea torpedoed the giant Deepwater Horizon oil platform because it was originally built and financed by South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. North Korea's primary objective is to inflict billions of dollars in economic damage upon the South Korean economy. It is now believed that North Korea was responsible for torpedoing a South Korean warship off the South Korean coast in March 2010 without any retaliation by South Korea or the U.S. According to their interpretation of the existing "laws of war", North Korea considers the attack a permissible action as they remain in a state of war against each other due to South Korea’s refusal to sign the 1953 Armistice formally ending the Korean War.

Specifically, the North Korean “cargo vessel” Dai Hong Dan, believed to be staffed by 17th Sniper Corps suicide troops, left Cuba’s Empresa Terminales Mambisas de La Habana on April 18th after which it severely deviated from its intended course for Venezuela’s Puerto Cabello, bringing it to within 209 kilometers (130 miles) of the Deepwater Horizon oil platform located 80 kilometers (50 miles) off the coast of Louisiana where it launched an SSC Sang-o Class Mini Submarine (Yugo class) estimated to have an operational range of 321 kilometers (200 miles). On the night of April 20th, the North Korean minisub manned by the 17th Sniper Corps soldiers attacked the Deepwater Horizon with what are believed to be two incendiary torpedoes, causing a massive explosion and resulting in the death of 11 workers. Barely 48 hours later on April 22nd, this minisub committed its final atrocity by exploding itself directly beneath the Deepwater Horizon causing the $1 Billion oil rig to sink beneath the seas and marking the 2010 celebration of Earth Day with one of the largest environmental catastrophes ever recorded.

North Korea may have a secondary objective. They may have wanted to present President Obama with an “impossible dilemma” prior to the opening of the United Nations Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) set to begin May 3rd in New York. This “impossible dilemma” facing Obama is indeed real as the decision he is faced with is either to allow the continuation of this massive oil leak catastrophe to continue for months, or immediately stop it by what is considered the only known and proven means possible, the detonation of a thermonuclear device.

Russian Navy atomic experts in these reports state that should Obama choose the “nuclear option”, the most viable weapon at his disposal is the United States B83 (Mk-83) strategic thermonuclear bomb having a variable yield (Low Kiloton Range to 1,200 Kilotons) which with its 12 foot length and 18 inch diameter, and weighing just over 2,400 pounds, is readily able to be deployed and detonated by a remote controlled mini-sub. Should Obama choose the “nuclear option” it appears that he would be supported by the International Court of Justice who on July 8th, 1996 issued an advisory opinion on the use of nuclear weapons stating that they could not conclude definitively on these weapons use in “extreme circumstances” or “self defense”. On the other hand, if Obama chooses the “nuclear option” it would leave the UN’s nuclear conference in shambles with every nation in the World having oil rigs off their coasts demanding an equal right to atomic weapons to protect their environment from catastrophes too, including Iran.

In more objective news, at least 1.6 million gallons of oil have now been reported spilled to date, and the area of the spill has tripled in size. The rate of leakage remains around 5,000 barrels, or 200,000 gallons, per day. Fishermen along Louisiana's coast are getting ready to help with the containment. The Coast Guard says hundreds of boats have already been deployed to lay thousands of feet of inflatable boom in an effort to keep the Gulf Coast oil spill from reaching shore. Spokesman Lt. James McKnight says the latest update from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association doesn't show oil reaching the Florida coast within the next 72 hours but he expects it to hit Mississippi by then.

Analysis: While the specific scenario cited above may prove to be fanciful, the mere idea of a terrorist attack on the platform is not fanciful. The destructive effects have simply been far too great to blow it off as a mere mishap. There was no reported earthquake in the area, and oil companies model and factor into consideration a multitude of blowout parameters when designing and deploying deepwater oil rigs.

What's troubling is that Russian sources originated and spread this story. There are a number of good reason to suspect Russian motives:

(1). Russia deliberately suckered Georgia into launching an operation against North Ossetian separatists, then, having equipped the North Ossetians with Russian passports, used this as an excuse to respond militarily and trash Georgia.

(2). Strong circumstantial evidence implicates the Russian FSB in the recent plane crash in Smolensk which decapitated a big chunk of the Polish government. Thomas Lamb provides considerable background in a series of posts from April 10th through April 30th.

So that begs the question; why is Russia spreading this story? Do they want to goad us into attacking North Korea in order to paint us as an aggressor and turn world opinion more against us? Do they want to see us spend more of our strength and means warring in foreign lands to strain our economy further?

  1. North Koreans and Chinese do not have stealth subs. No way a sub could drop off a cat in the right place. A more likely terror scenrio is venezualan or cuban origin. Doubt cuba, but Chavez is pretty much a nutty retard. Extremely difficult to conceptualize the training of operatives, their insertion, etc. If not Venezualan, then they would need to have infiltrated and been inactive in the gulf states or mexico for a while, then got a boat or plan, etc.

It is worth noting the simultaneous failed attempt in NYC, which is could demonstarte coordination. The NYC plot seems to be a lone wolf who was planning this long before the oil spills.

It's not likely a terror attack because of the logistics.
