The official account of the September 11th, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon continues to be in doubt, and has now unraveled further with a report that an Australian researcher has determined that flight data recorder information indicates that the flight deck door on American Airlines Flight 77, which slammed into the Pentagon on 9-11, was NOT opened. If further validated, this means that hijackers could not have entered the flight deck and taken control of the airliner by that means.
While no mainstream media source has yet picked up on this story, it's been picked up by 911Blogger, the Daily Paul, and Stormfront.
The report has been posted on the Pilots for 9/11 Truth website. A discussion thread has been opened HERE. Pilots for 9/11 Truth merely contend that government data does not effectively support the official story of 9/11; they do not offer a preferred alternate theory or point specific blame at this time. Here is the report:
Newly decoded data provided by an independent researcher and computer programmer from Australia exposes alarming evidence that the reported hijacking aboard American Airlines Flight 77 was impossible to have existed. A data parameter labeled "FLT DECK DOOR", cross checks with previously decoded data obtained by Pilots For 9/11 Truth from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) through the Freedom Of Information Act.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, American Airlines Flight 77 departed Dulles International Airport bound for Los Angeles at 8:20 am Eastern Time. According to reports and data, a hijacking took place between 08:50:54 and 08:54:11 in which the hijackers allegedly crashed the aircraft into the Pentagon at 09:37:45. Reported by CNN, according to Ted Olson, wife Barbara Olson had called him from the reported flight stating, "...all passengers and flight personnel, including the pilots, were herded to the back of the plane by armed hijackers...". However, according to Flight Data provided by the NTSB, the Flight Deck Door was never opened in flight. How were the hijackers able to gain access to the cockpit, remove the pilots, and navigate the aircraft to the Pentagon if the Flight Deck Door remained closed?
Founded in August 2006, Pilots For 9/11 Truth is a growing organization of aviation professionals from around the globe. The organization has analyzed Data provided by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) for the Pentagon Attack, the events in Shanksville, PA and the World Trade Center attack. The data does not support the government story. The NTSB/FBI refuse to comment. Pilots For 9/11 Truth do not offer theory or point blame at this point in time. However, there is a growing mountain of conflicting information and data in which government agencies and officials along with Mainstream Media refuse to acknowledge. Upon learning of this story, Pilots for 9/11 Truth did some elementary fact-checking before posting the story. They cross-checked this information with Capt. Ralph Kolstad, who flew a Boeing 757 jetliner with American, just to make sure their 757s have a sensor for when the door is open. He confirmed there is an overhead button to push to open the flight deck door. The button lights up when the door is open. There is a sensor on the door.
Of course, this revelation triggers a question: Why has this information not been previously publicized? The discussion thread provides a possible answer. According to Rob Balsamo in this post, "We actually had this parameter when we decoded the raw file ourselves more than 2 years ago. But, it showed all zero's so i just skipped it. Once Warren provided it in terms of the Data Frame Layout (0=CLOSED, 1=OPEN), is when i decided to scroll through and see when it was open and if it corresponded with the roughly 3 min hijack timeline (which in itself is an absurdly short time frame to take over an aircraft). As you can see, the data shows the door closed through the entire flight". Thus, the information was available all along, but it had not previously occurred to anyone to flag it.
Balsamo has already anticipated challenges to this new story and has posted his responses in this post. What this report does is continue to perpetuate doubt as to the true nature of the attack on the Pentagon. Two of the most prevalent alternate theories: Either AA Flight 77 was flown by wire into the Pentagon, or the Pentagon was actually struck by a cruise missile. The problem with the missile theory is that its proponents cannot suggest a credible alternative to the final disposition of Flight 77, since we've never heard from any of its occupants, including former Fox News pundit Barbara Olson, since that day.
Witness statements clarify this question, indicating that the Pentagon was struck by an AIRLINER. Even the least educated layman can tell the difference between a cruise missile and a Boeing 757. Numerous witnesses confirm seeing an AIRLINER heading for the Pentagon on September 11th, 2001. Here are a couple of typical witness statements:
"USAToday.com Editor Joel Sucherman saw it all: an American Airlines jetliner fly left to right across his field of vision as he commuted to work Tuesday morning. It was highly unusual. The large plane was 20 feet off the ground and a mere 50 to 75 yards from his windshield. Two seconds later and before he could see if the landing gear was down or any of the horror-struck faces inside, the plane slammed into the west wall of the Pentagon 100 yards away. 'My first thought was he's not going to make it across the river to [Reagan] National Airport. But whoever was flying the plane made no attempt to change direction,' Sucherman said. 'It was coming in at a high rate of speed, but not at a steep angle—almost like a heat-seeking missile was locked onto its target and staying dead on course.'"

"Northern Virginia resident John O'Keefe was one of the commuters who witnessed the attack on the Pentagon. 'I was going up 395, up Washington Blvd., listening to the the news, to WTOP, and from my left side-I don't know whether I saw or heard it first- I saw a silver plane I immediately recognized it as an American Airlines jet,' said the 25-year-old O'Keefe, managing editor of Influence, an American Lawyer Media publication about lobbying. 'It came swooping in over the highway, over my left shoulder, straight across where my car was heading. I'd just heard them saying on the radio that National Airport was closing, and I thought, "That's not going to make it to National Airport." And then I realized where I was, and that it was going to hit the Pentagon. There was a burst of orange flame that shot out that I could see through the highway overpass. Then it was just black. Just black, thick smoke.'"

Thus we can safely rule out the cruise missile theory. But the possibility that any or all of the aircraft involved in the 9-11 attacks could have been remotely hijacked and flown by wire to their fiery destinations does exist, and fly-by-wire technology has existed for years. This, of course, implies the 9-11 attacks were planned and executed at a level of organization and sophistication far exceeding the capabilities of 19 jihadis recruited from Arab countries. It also may explain why we we frequently just barely "missed" capturing Osama bin Laden. Those who actually planned the attacks would have an interest in directing the inquiry away from the "remote hijacking" possibility.
But the credibility of Pilots for 9/11 Truth has been challenged by a number of sources, most notably by Blackfive, which is edited by several military combat veterans. In July 2008, Blackfive launched a vitriolic attack on Pilots for 9/11 Truth, but they seemed to spend more time personally denigrating the organization and its primary players rather than actually rebutting their contentions. For example, they refer to Rob Balsamo as a "moonbat". An excess of name-calling damages one's own credibility.
There remain far too many ambiguities and even outright holes in the official 9-11 story to be writing off Pilots for 9/11 Truth as a bunch of "moonbats". For example, how could jet fuel make two skyscrapers collapse onto an almost perfectly symmetrical footprint? How could WTC-7, which was not struck by aircraft, collapse, even though some buildings even closer to WTCs 1 and 2 did NOT collapse? And even more troubling, why were five Israelis dancing the hora on a New Jersey roof top while the WTC towers were burning across the Hudson? The role of Israel in the 9-11 attacks has never been satisfactorily explained.
Pilots for 9/11 Truth deserve a fair hearing.
