Former Ohio Congressman James Traficant Interviewed By Greta Van Susteren On Fox News, Defends John Demjanjuk, Lashes Out At Israeli Interests

Many expected that when former Ohio Congressman James Traficant emerged from prison on September 2nd, 2009, he would be bowed, bent, and broken from the experience, perhaps going quietly into the night...and retirement. After all, he still has three years of probation to do.

But that was before he received an absolutely rousing welcome by over 1,400 supporters paying $20 a pop at an appreciation dinner in Youngstown, Ohio on Sunday September 6th. That obviously energized him, because when he appeared on Greta Van Susteren's On The Record program on the Fox News Channel on September 10th, he was loaded for bear...and swinging for the fences.

Traficant began by discussing his prison experiences. He actually served his Federal time at three different locations; Allenwood, PA; Ray Brook, NY; and the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, MN. Only the latter could be characterized as a "Club Fed". He also hinted at a future run for Congress, saying the chances are 50-50 (his Federal conviction doesn't bar a run for Congress). Then he discussed the potential of Delphi workers losing pension benefits, which would hit some parts of Ohio hard. But it was around the 4:00 minute mark on the first video where Traficant began to tread on "sacred ground", first discussing the John Demjanjuk case, and then lashing out at Israeli influence over Congress and the media. The full transcript of the interview can be read HERE; the interview was uploaded on to three separate YouTube videos embedded below:

Perhaps Jim Traficant should set his sights a bit higher than Congress. Traficant possesses a unique capability to connect with the real America - working class America. He's shown an ability to cut across party lines - Sean Hannity once referred to Traficant as his "favorite Democrat". Perhaps Jim Traficant might be a good fit on a third party ticket headed by either Ron Paul or Sarah Palin.

The fact is, it's no longer Republican vs. Democrat - both parties have become two separate wings of the same bird of prey. The battle is now Elite America vs. Real America. On the elite side are arrayed the rich CEOs, academia, and the endless supply of experts who impose the tyranny of their "science" upon us to make our lives miserable with endless restrictions and political correctness. On the other side are arrayed the working class, which not only includes workers, but small business owners, the military, cops, firefighters...the REAL America.

Real America is not concerned about the logo on a governor's jacket or the contents of a governor's e-mails or how many lawyers are on a judicial council. Real America isn't concerned about whether we measure wastewater at the point of a cruise ship's discharge or whether we measure it further out in mixing zones. Real America doesn't give a shit about some 65-year-old Holocaust. Real America is concerned about nuts and bolts that cost them money - roads, schools, public safety, libraries, and taxes. Real America needs affordable jobs, affordable health care, and affordable energy, and if it costs us a few polar bears and beluga whales and other endangered species, tough shit.

Elite America lost touch with real America years ago. Real America needs its own candidates - and Jim Traficant fills the bill perfectly.
