Russian Professor Igor Panarin Claims US Will Collapse And Break Up Due To Economic Crisis; Russia Could Seize Alaska

Update December 30th: This story has received a second wind, now that the Wall Street Journal and WorldNetDaily have picked it up. Better map now posted below:

In an article originally published in the Russian newspaper Izvestia, Russian professor Igor Panarin claims that America's current economic crisis not only could spur the collapse of the Federal government, but could also result in America breaking up into a series of smaller nations. In addition, Panarin hints that Russia could use the opportunity to pursue territorial claims against Alaska.

The most authoritative media story has been posted by RIA Novosti and Russia Today (which includes a video link). Other media stories published by the Drudge Report. ALIPAC has also posted a press release in response to this story.

Forum discussions at Free Republic, the Vanguard News Network Forum, and Stormfront.

Summary: Professor Igor Panarin addressed the collapse and breakup separately. First, he explained why he though America would collapse by saying, "The dollar is not secured by anything. The country's foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse".

Asked for a timeline, the 60-year-old Panarin, who is a professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and who has authored several books on information warfare, said, "It is already collapsing. Due to the financial crisis, three of the largest and oldest five banks on Wall Street have already ceased to exist, and two are barely surviving. Their losses are the biggest in history. Now what we will see is a change in the regulatory system on a global financial scale: America will no longer be the world's financial regulator". Panarin anticipates that China and Russia could replace the United States in regulating world markets. Newer stories disclose the Panarin believes it could happne as early as 2010.

Then Panarin addressed the expected breakup of the United States. Panarin cited a number of reasons:

- First, financial problems in the U.S. will worsen. Millions of citizens have already lost their savings. Prices and unemployment are on the rise. General Motors and Ford are on the verge of collapse, and this means that whole cities will be left without work. Governors are already insistently demanding money from the federal center. Dissatisfaction is growing, and at the moment it is only being held back by the elections and the hope that Obama can work miracles. But by spring, it will be clear that there are no miracles.

- Second, the vulnerable political setup, lack of unified national laws, and divisions among the elite, which have sharpened in these crisis conditions."

Panarin predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts - the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong. [Ed. Note: This is where Panarin reveals some ignorance of American demographics. The Southwest, from Southern California to New Mexico, most likely would become a Hispanic-dominated "Aztlan".]

But of greatest concern to Alaskans is his suggestion that "we could claim Alaska - it was only granted on lease, after all". This is a popular canard voiced by Russian chauvinists, and apparently is reproduced in many Russian history books as well. But documents from the time of purchase, referenced HERE, clearly show it was an outright purchase and NOT a lease. Panarin is not the only Russian casting covetous eyes on Alaska; Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the Jewish leader of Russia's Liberal Democratic Party, has also expressed the desire to "repatriate" Alaska by force.

Panarin also believes the Amero is a real currency to be issued at a propitious opportunity, explaining that "in 2006 a secret agreement was reached between Canada, Mexico and the U.S. on a common Amero currency as a new monetary unit. This could signal preparations to replace the dollar. The one-hundred dollar bills that have flooded the world could be simply frozen. Under the pretext, let's say, that terrorists are forging them and they need to be checked". Hal Turner, who is emerging as a vocal American economic watchdog, discusses the Amero in greater detail HERE.

Analysis: America's unwise immigration policy and commitment to divisive multiculturalism has laid the foundation for future conflict, which will undoubtedly be exacerbated by economic pressures. Many new immigrants are not being encouraged to assimilate. Alaska's positive example of assimilating immigrants is not being widely replicated throughout the Lower 48.

But a much more likely scenario for conflict is contained in Thomas W. Chittum's book entitled "Civil War Two", which can be read online HERE in PDF format. Chittum highlights vulnerable locations and provides supporting justification for his conclusions.

Chittum identifies several phases of this "Civil War II":
1. Tribalization, or the undermining of the concept of citizenship.
2. The creeping loss of democracy to private, governmental institutions and international bodies.
3. Gradually falling wages.
4. The slow decay of infrastructure in our cities and the abandonment by Americans and their replacement by minorities wedded to welfare and affirmative action.
5. Growing legal and illegal immigration to transform America into a typical Third World country.
6. Massive drive for gun control to cripple military potential from the working class.
7. Cooperation of the mass media to dumb down the population.

Near the end of the book, he makes projections that are happening right now:
1. Shrinking hourly wage.
2. More immigrants than Americans.
3. Foreigners hold most Federal Debt.
4. Twenty million Third World slums on our borders known as ‘colonias’.
5. Manufacturing jobs moved out of the USA making it impossible for us to make or sell anything to the world.
6. Republican and Democratic politicians refusing to deal with the immigration crisis. Worse, both parties aid and abet it.
7. Growing power of advocates of Aztlan or the reconquest of California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas by Mexico.

About the only thing Chittum missed was the mortgage crisis and credit crunch. Otherwise, it appears he and Panarin agree on America's possible short-term future.

  1. Sorry folks, but this is goofy. I'm in Arizona. We're still Americans.

  2. Well I guess the politicians may have run this country into the ground, and I do belive somebody is going to pay for making the working class carrier the load. I will never say a civil war is impossible. We already had one. But I hope evryone knows that if we break up as a nation of one, we did exactly what the outsiders have been wanting us to do, and trust me. Being governed by Mexico has no appeal to me. They are a starving 3rd world nation themselves, how can anyone expect they will be a better government for Texas. Folks! This is scary stuff. We Americans be you black white or brown had better close ranks and if there's any fighting to be done, lets make sure its not American against American. We may get poor but we will be poor Americans and not poor citizens of the Mexican,Japan,Chineese and damm sure not the Russian governments. Maybe its time we get all our troops home and think about defending and preserving the Union, and rebuild ourselves as one nation indivisable by any outside source. I have chosen my words carefully up to this point. But make no mistake. I will fight any force that attempts to break up this nation. In the streets and ally's, house to house and back yard to back yard. I will resist by any means possible, and at any opprotunity that presents itself. And if the wealthy elite somehow think it will be better for them, they need to think again. You need to realize that if occupied by other governments your wealth will be redistributed. So it would be in your best interest for you wealthy folks to finance this war againist a break up. I can only hope and pray that there are enough real Americans left that will stand and fight if it truly comes to this. We have come to far to give up now. And I surender is just not a phrase I'm ready to speak.

Having lived in Soviet Union, Russia, Georgia and the USA, I can tell with confidence that disintegration of Soviet Union was a matter of time. I grew up in Soviet Union. I was 19, when USSR fell apart (I am happy it did). After the disintegration, I lived in Georgia for 6 years and in Russia for 2 years. For the last 10 years I have lived in the USA.
Minorities, such as Georgians, Azeris, Ukrainians, Lithuanians, Latvians, and Estonians disliked or hated Moscow dominated rule based on violence and intimidation of smaller republics. In addition, there was a significan degree of interethnic mistrust and even anymosity. Anybody who served in the Soviet Army will testify that any military base was informally divided to 5 or more groups, based on ethnic origin: Ukrianian (particularly central and western), Middle Asian (Kazakh, Uzbek, Turkmen, Kyrgyz, Tajik), South Caucasian (Georgian, Azeri, Armenian), North Caucasian (Chechens, Ingushian, Daghestanian, Kabardian), Baltic (Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian), and Russian. Different ethnic groups fought on a regular basis. Occasionally abuse led to large-scale violence among the groups.
Having friends in Russia and closely monitoring news from Russia, it seems very obvious that interethnic clashes intensified since Russia succeeded USSR. Racial discrimination and hatred crimes are more widespread in Russia. Russian citizens of North Caucasian origin are disenfranchized in their own autonomous republics and in the rest of Russia. In addition they along with Middle Asians are increasingly targeted by Nazi groups.
All of the above is completely different from the situation in the US, unless one judges the latter based on some outdated American action movies describing prison life.
Shortcomings of American Federal government does not come close to some of Kremlin policies, such as “propiska” (registration) policy within Moscow. If you are a Russian citizen from anywhere beyond Moscow, you are allowed to stay in Moscow for 48 hours only. The policy is well-enforced in Moscow. Any police officer in Moscow is allowed to check your ID without any reason and your ID must demonstrate that you are registered in Moscow or you must demonstrate that have arrived to Moscow within 48 hours.
As a Georgian American who lived in Russia and the US, I am positive that Americans who share power with all racial, ethnic, and religious groups, who elected the first African American president, who have largely eliminated any kind of discrimination, who have no problems migrating and settling all over the US will never consider or allow disintegration of my second homeland, the United States of America.
Having said this, I would like to emphasize that Kremlin’s wishfull thinking and its illegal/immoral actions within Russia and beyond may not be ignored and must be taken seriously. Americans should not blame self for Russia’s collapse, its crimes in Chechnya, its invasion of Georgia, its nuclear threats to Eastern Europe, or its support of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. However, Americans should not engage in wishful thinking assuming that the Russian threat does not exist or will dissolve itself. The West has to be serios about Russia and deal with it, not avoid it or cave in to Russian blackmail.

  4. Because the world economy is so terrible, I predict the Earth will break up into 6 separate sections. One will leave to join mars. Another will be annexed by the moon. Two others, hopefully containing this idiot professor will hurl themselves into the sun. Piece 5 will tell the other pieces to screw off and call itself New Amsterdam and grow the best marijuana ever. And the last piece will cease to exist because it no longer believes in reality.

Also immediately before this happens, cats and dogs will live in a harmonious golden age. Fish will sprout wings and roam the skies while the birds all fall flightless and swim the waters. Chocolate will taste like vanilla and vanilla will be strawberry. Cheese will be the new world currency, and purple will decide it wants to be blue now.

And no, we don't have any cheese.

  5. Well, I believe the time is approaching when the Left and the Right will now long be able to share this country and some sort of split is about to occur.
I don't think this professor has a clue as to which states will align and what the final outcome will look like, though.
There will be red and blue states with some blended I think.

"We Americans be you black white or brown had better close ranks and if there's any fighting to be done, lets make sure its not American against American."

This quote from one of the above comments is very instructive.
It is symptomatic of the disease that is really killing America.
Though I rarely hear it mentioned, and then only by me, the disease that has killed America is Sentimentality.
Sentimentality is wanting to hear the tune without paying the piper.

It is a case of wanting to sing "We Are The World" while simultaneously refusing to face the unpleasant facts the inevitably occur when large numbers of people from different races mix it up in close quarters.

I did not at all get the impression from this persons comments that they were bad or stupid. On the contrary, they meant well. They were simply deluded.

After all, we are IN the position we're in because people of different races are openly and unapologetically hostile to the majority race - Whites.

Now, that we are all up against it, we're all of a sudden going to do the opposite of what we've been doing that has led us to this current impasse and "join ranks"???

Would it be a stretch to say that these words were written by a White person who "means well"?

Does this person hear Mexicans and Blacks and Muslims and Chinese talking like that?

Hell, in terms of White people, he doesn't even hear the Russians talking like that!
They are ready to take Alaska for crying out loud!

When an intelligent person can not see what is right in front of them you can be sure the explanation is in their deep, almost unconscious, committment to their belief system.

It is an example of a person who has surrendered to the great temptation to confuse their view of the world with the way the world actually is - and this in spite of all of the evidence to the contrary.

If anyone needs to close ranks it's Whites, and fast. But, they can't. And why? Because decent people like this person have been brainwashed to believe that White = Bad and MultiCultural = Good.
Apparently he or she still doesn't get the joke.
The joke being that Mexicans think Mexico = Good, so lets have more of it. Multiculturalism is merely the means whereby they acheive their ends.
Same with Blacks, Muslims, and last but not least, the Chosen Ones behind the curtain, whose mantra of "Pay no attention to the Chosen behind the curtain or we'll call you an anti-semite" is wearing off.

No, we need to close ranks not to hurt others, but to save ourselves. But they will look at ANY attempt for us to save ourselves as an act of aggression.
    Well, what then?

Leaving that deadly question aside lets just say that if we don't get together and soon, forget it.
    It's over.

So, let's give it a try.

    But, first things first!

Put a cork on the bottle of Sentimentality!!!!

It's time to hit bottom and start sobering up!
